Our friends from the #CD-Art-Display have announced the contest. Here is some info about it.


... is a square shaped cool looking area that will be used as a background for all our future "Skin Of The Week" features. this particular background will be a part of our group's main page, so it would be nice if it would fit in with the CD Art Display (and/or deviantART) colors and the overall look and feel of our site. since we want to showcase the featured "Skin Of The Week" we are looking for a real eyecatching background with maybe an additional frame, bar, banner or badge etc. that would perhaps include a skin's name and/or the artist's name or even the "Skin Of The Week" title.

please keep in mind that all sorts of different skins need to look crisp and clean on that background, so you might wanna consider that there are skins with brighter text and some with darker text. some skins are rather small while other skins are medium sized and others even larger. also there are skins with a more horizontal alignment while some would appear more vertical. in other words: every skin you can think of has to fit in on that background.

please note that i won't comment on any of your submissions and suggestions until the contest is over, so don't ask me if i like or disapprove or consider or reject or whatever.
however, you can ask me anything you like if something i stated in here isn't quite clear to you.

contest entries that are qualified to participate need to have the sizes of:

... 400 x 400 px
and 600 x 600 px
and 800 x 800 px

in consideration of the massive variety of different skins that are going to be featured in your "Skin Of The Week" preview box, you're allowed to enter 2 differently colored backgrounds while both having the same style (so we can switch between those 2 backgrounds, if a featured skin requires us to do so).


a countdown widget on #CD-Art-Display group's main page will keep you informed about the time that's left.
the winner will be announced and notified shortly after the contest is over (about 2 or 3 days later).

there's only one member in the jury and that's no less a person than me - =OtisBee.
so, your works will only and "exclusively" encounter my very own preferences and taste.
that's why i mentioned earlier, that i won't comment on any of your contest entries, thus keeping it a fair contest.
if someone would like to contribute more prizes, then please send me a note and we'll make a deal to maybe expand the amount of jury members.


1st place:

a 3 months subscription for a deviantART Premium Membership.
a blog feature of both the winning preview box and the according artist who created it.
the guarantee that the winning preview box will be used on our group's main page for at least 6 subsequent "Skin Of The Week" features.
the winner will be notified and given a 3 months subscription as soon as i'd make my decision. in return you'll then send me the psd file of your "Skin Of The Week" preview background, so we can use it for our group's purposes.

2nd, 3rd, 4th, ... Xth place:

an imaginary soft, squishy and moist handshake yet of acknowledging nature, given by whoever your desires might wish for.
